A Groundwater Level Automatic Measurement and Transmission System Based on Short Message Service of GSM

There are always lots of scattered stations need to be measured during the process of groundwater level measurement. In the traditional groundwater level measurement and transmission system, water level data are always measured by special persons. The whole measurement process is fussy and time-consuming, and is easily affected by some anthropic factors. In order to provide exactitude and timely data about water level for supervision and measurement center, this paper brings forward a project that to realize long-distance transmission of water level information in the water level automatic measurement and transmission system by using Short Message Service (SMS) of GSM network. Construction and work principle are shown in the paper, and concrete method of realizing the telecommunication by SMS is discussed in detail. At present, this technology has been applied to the groundwater level supervision and measurement system in Taiyuan, and the automatic collection, storage, telecommunication and real time demand of groundwater level information have been realized successfully.
