Research on the methods of temperature measurement based on the backscattered ultrasonic echoes

An experimental setup was designed with a mode B ultrasonic equipment and a computer to detect the temperature change in biological tissue. The sample was in vitro pork muscle hit by high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU). It was proved that: (1) the ampli-tude of backscattered ultrasound echoes changed with the tissue temperature,also done the wavelets coefficients; (2) the relationship be-tween the amplitude of backscattered ultrasound echoes and the tissue temperatures was the same as the relationship between the wavelets coefficients of backscattered ultrasound echoes and the tissue temperatures; (3) the amplitude or the wavelets coefficients of backscattered ultrasound echoes increased with the tissue temperature from 37℃ to 60℃,however there was no corresponding relationship between the amplitude or the wavelets coefficients of backscattered ultrasound echoes and the tissue temperatures from 60℃ to 80℃.
