Objectives: To study the value of multislice CT angiography(MSCTA) in diagnosing arterial diseases of the lower extremities. Methods: Twenty-one patients with arterial disease(s) of the lower extremities were submitted to MSCTA. In 11 cases, the MSCTA findings were compared to that of conventional angiography and/or by surgical operation. Results: Compared with DSA, MSCTA had a higher sensitivity in diagnosing stenosis and occlusion, a positive predictive value of 100% and negative predictive value of 50% were found in Grade Ⅱ branches of the femoral artery. Conclusions: MSCTA gives a higher accuracy and safety than conventional angiography in diagnosing arterial diseases of the lower extremities.
