Supercritical fluid extraction technology for Cinnamomum camphora leaf oil

Objective:To optimize the oil extraction procedure from Cinnamomum camphora leaves by supercritical fluid extraction.Methods:By air drying,the leaves were cut into pieces by sizes of 6 cm×1 cm.The experiment started with single factor test of the extraction effects associated with temperature,pressure and time on extraction yields before applying orthogonal experiment to optimizing the three factors.Results:Orthogonal test showed that the optimum extraction conditions were involved in temperature at 45 ℃,pressure by 15 MPa and time for 90 min,and that processing technique could harvest the oil from Cinnamomum camphora leaves by 10.2%.Conclusion: Oil extraction from Cinnamomum camphora leaves by supercritical fluid processing can be productive under the optimum conditions described above.Of the three factors,extraction temperature may greatly affect the oil output.
