Configuration selection of front guide inlet for direct driving turbine based on numerical wave tank

Front guide inlet is one of the most important parts of the wave direct driving turbine(DDT).Based on the numerical wave tank(NWT)and the standard k-εturbulence model,the hydraulic characteristics of three front guide inlets with different configurations are studied by using the commercial CFD software FLUENT.To obtain the highly stable and repeated waves,a three-dimensional numerical wave tank is established by utilizing the moving boundary method on the basis of linear theory of wave,and the volume of fluid(VOF)method is used to track the free surface.According to the back reservoir's surge height,DDT's flow rate and capture width ratio,the performance of three front guide inlets is compared.
