The effects of conjugated linoleic acid on the adherence and migration of B16-MB mouse melanoma cells

Objective To investigate the effects of conjugated linoleic acid on the adherence and migration of B16\|MB cells,and explore the possible pathway of the chemopreventive/preventive effects of conjugated linoleic acid on tumor metastasis.Methods B16\|MB cells were cultured in RPMI 1640 medium,10% fetal bovine serum and 0(controll),25,50,100,200 μmol/L CLA for 24hours and the ability of CLA\|treated cells to adhere to intracellular matrix and to move was investigated.Results The ability of CLA\|treated cells to adhere to fibronectin and laminin decreased significantly ( P0.01 ).CLA inhibited the migration of B16\|MB,but no effect on the ability of B16\|MB tendency\|motion.Conclusion CLA may prevent metastasizing by affecting the adherence and migration ability of tumor cells.
