MAXIMUM ENTROPY SPECTRAL ANALYSIS AND ITS APPLICATION IN GEOPHYSICAL EXPLORATION

Maximum entropy spectral analysis is a method of estimating spectrum which has higher resolution than usual methods of calculating power spectra. Its wide application will provide more useful information for geophysical prospecting. This paper systematically presents the theory and algorithm of the method and the simple case of its application in geophysical data processing. Also, it gives examples to show how maximum entropy spectral analysis method was first used in aeromagnetic data processing.
