An Investigation of Jue-di

Bu Jian  
Jue-di originated from village performances of the Shang and Zhou dynasties and the "military rites" of the Spring and Autumn and the Warring States periods, and thus kept lots of characteristics of village performance, such as mass participation. Jue-di contains an art spirit called sai (赛).
