The“Ecosystem”of the Ming and Qing Literature under the Shadow of Imperial Examinations

Jiang Yin
The scorns and attacks on the "eight - legs" essays have made such a literary style difficult to enter into the review of contemporaneous literary history since the Ming and Qing dynasties. The text here reconstructs the ecosystem of the contemporaneous literature with the view of explaining the extreme harmfulness caused by the imperial examinations as for literary creation, Thus, we might have a new comprehension of the literary writings and their destinies in the Ming and Qing dynasties.
