Plasticity limit analysis on soil slope stability by slice techniques

WANG Gen long, MEN Yu ming,CHEN Zhi xin,LIU Ni na,YAO Rui qing (School of Geological and Surveying Engineering, Chang′an University, Xi′an 710054, China)  
Based on the upper bound theorem of soil plasticity mechanics, a slice techniques for analyzing translational failure mechanism of soil slope was put forward. According to the term that the rate of work done by external loads and soil weight is equal to the rate of the energy dissipation in the kinemafically admissible velocity field,the virtual work rate equation was deduced.With the equation,the safety factor of slope stability can be calculated.
