Method to optimize urban rail transit network based on maximizing the passenger flow

At present,urban rail transit network planning in Chinese cities mainly uses qualitative analysis.After establishing a rail transit network optimization objective function and constraints,the optimization model is developed.In this model,the trips whose trip distance is too short in OD matrix are abandoned.Then,the traffic zone centroids were connected into a network in which a subnetwork with maximizing the potential through passenger flow was regarded as a virtual urban rail transit network.Based on planned road network,this virtual network is turned to real planning urban rail transit network through being paved on some roads.This method can get the optimun network of urban rail transit based on OD matrix.2 figs,10 refs.
