Mode Recognition for Gender Imbalance Governance in China——From Analysis on 24 Pilot Counties and districts in the National "Care for Girls Action Program"

Based on the self-reported evaluation from 24 pilot counties and districts in the "Care for Girls Action Program" and 5-factor analysis framework for public governance,by extracting variables with the contents analysis method and quantifying the qualitative data at the same time,this paper carries out a recognition study of the governance mode of the imbalanced sex ratio at birth on the county and district levels in China through the steps such as factor analysis,cluster analysis,mode recognition analysis,etc.The analytic results indicate that the governance modes in the 24 counties could be classified into 4 groups including mechanism building mode,publicity and advocacy mode,organization and leadership mode,and comprehensive governance mode.At the end,the paper outlines limitations in this study and points out the orientation for further study.
