Control Algorithm and Parameter Match for an Electromagnetic Coupling Hybrid Electric Bus

Based on the knowledge of dynamic servo,a novel research project of electromagnetic coupling hybrid electric bus is proposed to keep the internal combustion engine running at an optimal operation line independent of wheel load.The mechanical clutch and manual transmission fixed in the conventional bus are replaced by double motors to execute the functions of electromagnetic clutch and continuously variable transmission simultaneously.By analyzing the operating principle and determining the control algorithm,the parameter design and match of engine,double motors and power battery are investigated to meet the vehicle dynamic performance and typical driving-cycles for the aim bus.The simulation results from the vehicle backward simulation model indicate that the acceleration period from 0 to 60 km/h decreases by 16.5% and fuel economy of the novel bus improves by 39.6% compared with the conventional bus.
