Design and Motion of the Electrode in Electrical Discharging Machining (EDM) of Solid Turbine Disk

In order to improve the ratio of thrust to weight and reliability of the aerocraft in aviation and spaceflight, and reduce its maintenance cost, the solid turbine disk with twisted blades is used in its engine. For solving the difficulty to occur in the process of manufacturing the solid turbine disk, some related research are made. Firstly, the geometric modeling method of the solid turbine disk is proposed. Then, to solve the problem of machining curvature interference in shaping the tool electrode, by means of the concept of curvature interference in differential geometry and GBS (Gragg Bulirsch Stoer) extrapolation, the arithmetic to design interference free electrode of EDM finishing manufacturing are put forward. Afterwards, according to the postulate of forming conjugate surface in generating stream hole, the movement contrail, pose of electrode in EDM finishing manufacturing are studied. Lastly, the feasibility and validity of this inaugurate method is proven through some simulating examples.
