Quantitative Analysis of Sedimentary Facies Using Lithology Statistics:Taking Chang 8 Member in Northern Shaanxi Area as an Example

In order to improve the accuracy and objectivity of sedimentary facies recognition,the quantitative analysis of sedimentary facies of Chang 8 member in northern Shaanxi area was carried out by lithological statistics. Based on traditional sedimentary facies analysis,the statistics of the lithology,thickness,thickness ratio and layer ratio of different sedimentary microfacies was finished,the sensitive parameters of sedimentary facies were selected,and the quantitative identification chart of sandstone and mudstone( the sand to shale thickness ratio-he sand to shale layer ratio) was established. According to the traditional sedimentary facies analysis,the accuracy of this identification chart is more than 70%,which shows that it is feasible to quantitatively analyze sedimentary facies by means of lithology statistics method.
