The geological conditions study of CO_2 sequestration of Ordovician Majiagou formation in Ordos Basin

The geological conditions of CO_2 sequestration of Majiagou formation in Ordos Basin are discussed in detail from the basic physical conditions,the reservoir conditions,the caprock conditions and the hydrogeological conditions. It is believed that the buried depth,normal pressure system and low temperature system of Majiagou formation together offer appropriate physical conditions for CO_2 injection and sequestration. The reservoir of Majiagou formation has the space and ability of storing CO_2. The interconfiguration of different cap layers on Majiagou formation effectively improve the sealing ability. The underground brine also provides a perfect fluid environment for CO_2 storage. Therefore,Majiagou formation of Ordovician in Ordos Basin possesses excellent conditions for storing CO_2 in the brine. Majiagou formation is very suitable for CO_2 geologic sequestration.
