Soil Respiration Characteristics of Two Types of Land Use in Southern Junggar Basin

Soil respiration rate under windbreak and cropland in southern Junggar basin were measured with Li-8100,and soil temperature,soil moisture and air temperature above the ground surface were monitored at same time.The effects of temperature and moisture on soil respiration rate were analyzed.Results showed that soil respiration rate of cropland was higher than that of windbreak significantly.Soil respiration rate of diurnal and seasonal changes under two types of land use had a simple peak value,both reached a maximum during 12:00-14:00.The greatest soil respiration rate appeared in windbreak in June and in cropland in August.A multi-variable model about temperature and moisture could explain 87.99% and 68.9% temporal variation of soil respiration rate in windbreak and in cropland,respectively.Soil temperature was dominant abiotic control on soil respiration rate in cropland,and soil water content in windbreak.
