The Dastarcus helophoroides (Fairmaire, 1881) is an important natural enemy of wood borers. This kind of beetle was put into the family Colydiidae previously, but now it was placed in the family Bothrideridae. In China, the Dastarus longulus (Sharp, 1885) has been used as scientific name of this beetle for a long time. The classification, morphology, biology and host of the beetle were introduced briefly in this paper. We also approached the using prospects of over mentioned aspects.
