Distribution of Raindrop's Terminal Velocity in the Loess Plateau

A power function is employed, in this paper,to describe the relations between raindrops terminal velocity and its diameter.Based on the raindrop diameter distribution by A.C.Best,the distribution of raindrops terminal velocity is,therefore,obtained.It is indicated that the raindrops terminal velocity obeys Weibull distribution or truncated Weibull distribution when the rainfall intensity is lower or higher,respectively.The scale and shape parameters are discussed,both of which depend on the intensity and type of rainfall.
