A report on karyotypes of two Saussurea species from the eastern Qinghai-Tibetan plateau

WANG Yi-feng,SHA Jie,WANG Zhuan-li,ZHOU Sheng-hui,YANG Zong-bang(College of Life Science,Northwest Normal University,Lanzhou 730070,Gansu,China)  
The chromosome numbers and karyotypes of two species Saussurea DC.are reported by planish method from the eastern Qinghai-Tibetan plateau.The results show that the chromosome numbers and karyotypes of the genus of respectively are 2n=2x=32=18m+14sm,2n=2x=28=24m+2sm+2st.The karyotypes of both species are 2A according to the Stebbins's classification.No satellites are found in these two species.
