Study and Development on Consolidation Properties of Saturated Soft Clay

Consolidation theory is one of the most important problem in soil mechanics. In this paper, the history and current situation of studies on consolidation of saturated soft clay are summarized. Limitations of conventional consolidation theory are analyzed. Some important study tendencies in the future are proposed.
