STUDIES ON SIMULATED PLANT TYPES OF SOYBEAN

Yin Tianfu (Soybean Research Institute,Heilongjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences,Harbin,Heilongjiang Province)  
The objective of this study attemots to demonstrate the effects ofmultiple regression of leaf area index(LAI)and ratio of light interception(RLI)on yield characters under different light interception by canopies(top,middle,bottom)of simulated tower-type and papilionaceous-typesoybeans.Results indicated that RLA of the top canopy of tower-type is negati-vely correlated with the number of pods per plant,number of seeds perplant,seed weight per plant,seed-stem ratio,number of pods on mainstem,number of pods per nod on main stem,while RLA of the middle andbottom canopies is positively correlated to these characters.The LAI oftop and middle canopies is significantly and negatively correlated withthese characters(at 1% level).It is concluded that the optimum LAI of top,middle and bottom can-opies of indeterminate type soybean is 0.20,1.07 and 0.72 respectively.
