Zhang Xiangqun (Institute of Agricultural Sciences of Shijiazhuang District,Hebei Province)  
The Performenee of two combining abilities in F_1 of corn inbred lin-es was analysed with crossing test data.The results were as follows:the heterosis was decided by the parent's total effect of combining abi-lities;the relationship between the effect of specific combining ability(?)and F_1 was closer than that between the effect of general combi-ning ability(?)and F_1;(?)was the main and direct cause of hetero-sis There was a middle-dcgreed positive correlation between the two com-bining abilities of cross combination;(?)was more larger than (?) whencombining ability changed,So there was more closed positive correla-tion between (?) and higher (?).The performence of both (?) and (?)(the level of specific combining ability)were entirely uniform,with thechange of (?).,(?)nearly doubled,The author considered that stressshould be put on the enhancement of the combining ability(general com-bining ability in essence)in corn breeding;both methods of selectinggeneral combining ability using test varieties with complex hereditaryproperty and improving general combining ability using inbred lineswere efficient;combining ability categories were the appropriate indexfor choosing combining ability of parents,there were four combiningabilities categories of parents,the best combination of combining abilityof parents were;(?)≥moderation and the mean value of (?) was modera-tion.
