Dominant Acting Factors Determination for Salt and Alkali Mixed Stresses in the Seedlings of Sunflower

The seedlings of sunflower were stressed with 30 kinds of mixed salts composed of NaCl, NaHCO 3, Na 2SO 4, and Na 2CO 3 at various proportions and differed in salinity and alkalinity each other. Seven strain indexes such as relative growth rate (RGR) etc. were determined. The relationships among the all acting factors and strain indexes were statistically analyzed each by each. Results showed that the influences of four factors salinity, buffer capacity, pH and , can represent that of all stress acting factors. The multiple regression between every strain index and the four factor were analyzed. It is proved that there were perfect linear correlation between every strain index and the four factor. The contributions of the four factors were obviously different, e.i. buffer capacity and salinity were dominant factors to all of strain indexes; pH and were obviously less important and can be neglected in some cases. It is reasonable to consider the buffer capacity and the salinity are dominant factors for the salt and alkali mixed stress of sunflower.
