Analysis of Pressure Signals in Furnace of Utility Boiler Using Complexity Measure

Operation safety of utility boiler depends on its combustion stability to a great extent.Real-time detection of combustion state and in-time judgment are important to safe and effective operation of utility boiler.With the help of Supervisory Information System(SIS),this paper introduced Kolmogorov nonlinear complexity index theory,and analyzed the stabilization of the pressure signals in furnace to quantitatively evaluate the combustion state.Firstly,furnace pressure signals were preprocessed.Then complexity of furnace pressure signals of eight typical combustion conditions was calculated,i.e.stable high load condition,stable low load condition,high load fluctuation condition,low load fluctuation condition,starting mill condition,stopping mill condition,igniting condition,stopping boiler condition.Finally,through an example analysis,it was showed that complexity measure can effectively distinguish the stable and unstable combustion condition and the bad combustion can be warned in advance to some extent.The conclusion has laid foundation for the next work of combustion optimization.
