Life Reliability Assessment of Main Steam Pipes Based on Probability Theory

The main steam pipes is one of components suffering from high temperature and high pressure in the power plant.The stress of pipes is assumed to be normal distribution random variables as well as yield limitation of pipe metal.The probability statistic method is employed to evaluate the main steam pipes creep life reliability of a power plant according to the conventional life curve explotation method based on the experimental data.The instantaneous failure life reliability is caculated based on stress-strength intervention theory.The relationship of pipe life and life reliability is achieved by comparing life reliabilities.The method is found to be more steady compared to the conventional life assessment method.The supervisor of metal equipment in power plant can evaluate the life of steam pipes more accurately by using this approach.
