Study of cold or hot constitution in four species of mice

Objective It is to study the cold or hot constitution in four species of mice. Methods Simultaneous systematic inspection about biological characteristics of eight to nine week-old Kunming mice, BALB/c mice, C57BL/6Jmice and ICR mice and four to five week-old Kunming mice were taken, and their cold or hot constitution were assessed with a same criterion. At the same time BALB/c mice were taken drug counterevidence with Shenguilizhong pill and Reserpine. Results ①The constitutions of four to five week-old Kunming mice were more obviously prone to hot compared with eight to nine week-old ones. ②The constitutions of BALB/c mice were prone to cold compared with C57BL/6J mice. ③There was no significant difference in constitution between eight to nine week-old male BALB/c mice and C57BL/6J mice (include male and female) and the same age corresponding sex Kunming mice. The constitutions of eight to nine week-old female BALB/c mice were prone to cold compared with the same age corresponding sex Kunming mice. ④The constitutions of eight to nine week-old ICR mice were prone to hot compared with the same age BALB/c mice and C57BL/6J mice. The constitutions of eight to nine week-old male ICR mice were prone to hot compared with the same age corresponding sex Kunming mice. Conclusion Four species of mice have different cold or hot constitutions.
