The Compare and Analysis of IP Multicast and ALM Congestion Control Protocol

As an efficient one-to-multi data transfering model, the congestion control of multicast haven't reach the standard of efficiency and propriety, which becomes the bottle-neck of its broad application. In this paper, the concept of multicast congestion control is introduced, several estimated goals of multicast congestion control are suggested, different protocol of IP multicast congestion control are analysed and compared. This paper also analyzes the advantage and disadvantage of applicational layer multicast congestion control and the characteristic of typical ALM protocal. The expectation of congestion control using ALM is suggested in the last part.
