Effects of medium frequency electrotherapy (MEFT)on patients with Binswanger's disease

Objective To observe the effecs of Midle Frequency Electrical Therapy on CVDI and ADL of patients with Binswnger's disease.Method 53 cases with Binswanger's disease were tested by the cerebral hemodynamic instrument (cv- 300, produced in shanghai, China) and measured with activities of daily living (ADL),Bathel index, before and after MFET separately.Result There were increases of cerebral blood flow and decreases both in peripheral and dynamic resistance. At the same time, there was the improvement of activities of daily living among Binswanger's patients.Conclusion MFET can improve the mean quantity of cerebral blood flow, micro- circulation of brain, function of cerebral vascular regulation and the activities of daily living of Binswanger's patients.
