Establishment of peak bone mass by QUS in Tibetan women

Aim To explore the peak bone mass and diagnosis osteoporosis of Tibetan women with quantitative ultrasound bone density measurement.Methods A life questionnaire, BUA, SOS, STI were conducted among 170 healthy female voluntary subjects, aged 24-42 years, coming from Gannan Zangzu Municipality.Results The peak bone mass was seen during 32-33 year old. SUA, SOS and STI were 67.3±2.2, 1543.6±5.6, 57.3±2.0 respectively.Conclusion The peak bone mass(PBM) of Tibetan women is higher than that of Han nationality maybe due to higher movement, higher Ca+intake and higher avoirdupois.
