AIM:To investigate the expressions of cyclinD1 and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) in non small cell lung cancer(NSCLC),and to explore the influence of the two biological factors and other clinical factors on prognosis of NSCLC. METHODS:Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expressions of cyclinD1 and VEGF in pathological tissue section of 73 cases NSCLC and 20 cases non malignant tissue from lung lesions, and study the relationship of expressions of cyclinD1 and VEGF with survival rate of three years in NSCLC. RESULTS:The expression rates of cyclinD1 and VEGF in NSCLC were 64.38% and 71.23% respectively, but in non malignant tissue from lung lesions, they were 15.00% and 20.00% respectively(χ2=15.40,17.20,P 0.01).The positive expressions of the cyclinD1 and VEGF in NSCLC was related only to TNM stages and metastasis of lymph nodes.Survival rates of three years in patients with positive expressions of the two biological factors were lower than those with the negative expressions(P 0.05).By Cox regression analysis,cyclinD1,VEGF,TNM stages and the metastasis of lymph nodes were the independent prognostic factors that measured the survival time of patients with NSCLC. CONCLUSION:Positive expressions of cyclinD1 and VEGF occur in most NSCLC,which may affect prognosis of NSCLC,but only TNM stages and the metastasis of lymph nodes may affect the prognosis of NSCLC in many clinical factors.
