Biomechanics experiment addressing cross-section shape of intravascular stent structure

After clinical intravascular implantation,stent has biomechanical coupling effect on hemodynamic and vessel wall shear stress. Here,materials mechanics is used to analysis the design about coefficient of trapezoidal cross-section ratio of stent structure during stent expanding by bend; trapezoidal cross-section of two-dimensional stent structure is numerical simulated both in the blood vessel wall contact experiment and in fluid-solid coupling experiment in the blood flow field. The results showed that the structure optimization of trapezoid cross-section stent can reduce the coefficient of the stent contacts the vessel wall stress and improve hemodynamics conditions on stent surface. This can be avoided blood vessel wall damage caused by stress,and owned a significant reduction on restenosis rate with thrombosis deposition in the surface of stent. It has great guiding significance on the stent design.
