A Study on Compensation Method of the Aperture Fill Time

Based on the spectrum-synthesizing method,a processing model of the chirp stepped-frequency is built for linear phased array.The effects of the aperture fill time on the bandwidth of the chirp stepped-frequency signal are analyzed.The solution of the frequency-shifting method is proposed and the corresponding simulation results are given.It shows that the bandwidth of the chirp stepped-frequency signal is still limited by the aperture fill time although the bandwidth of the subpulse is less than the reciprocal value of the aperture fill time.In addition,the problem can be effectively improved by the frequency-shifting method.
