Rapid excavation of parallel adit in Yuanliangshan tunnel

Zhang Jikui (China Railway Tunneling Group Co. , Luoyang 471009, China)  
Yuanliangshan tunnel, with developed karst, abundant ground water of high pressure, fault and fracture zones containing coal layer, gas, oil and natural gas, has very complex geological condition. Therefore it is difficult for the tunnel construction. In this paper the rapid excavation technology is introduced in terms of excavation, support, mucking, transportation and ventilation.
