Study on 110 m Tube-Roofing Applied in a Tunnel Built by Shallow Mining Excavation

Based on Xiamen Gaoqi tunnel under-passing Yinxia railroad, the construction techniques and the effeciency of 110 m tube-roofing were studied. The construction accuracy of tube-roofing was satisfied by using advanced guiding instruments and directional plunge technique. The effect of construction on surrounding environment was restricted by press-expanding dilating of holes and by pulling in front and back tampering of tubes. By analysing monitored data, surface settlements caused by tube-roofing construction were small. Tuberoofing support can avoid the sharp settlements and collapse during tunnel excavation. The maximum accumulated settlement reached 90 mm owing to the delay of second lining fabrication, tunnel excavation, soft ground and dynamic train loading.
