Techniques for a Slurry Shield Under-passing the Section with Super Shallow Cover in Nanjing Yangtze River Tunnel

According to the engineering geology of the section with super shallow cover in Nanjing Yangtze River Tunnel,the risks of shield tunneling were analyzed.Based on the calculation of slurry pressure and slurry param-eters,a rigorous construction scheme has been drawn up to strengthen the information-oriented management dur-ing the construction and to ensure the safty of rapidly under-passing the section with super shallow cover.The technique successfully adopted herein not only has accumulated valuable experience in the field of underground engineering,but also has filled in the construction gap in China for large slurry shield safely under-passing super shallow covered section in silty sand strata.
