A SHORT-TERM STUDY ON FERROUS INTERVENTION COMBINED WITH CHINESE TRADITIONAL MEDICINE IN IMPROVEMENT OF THE SYMPTOMS OF IDA

Objective:To observe the efficacy of enrich blood tablet combined with Chinese traditional tonic medicine in a short-term(15d) treatment of iron deficiency anemia(IDA).Methods: 30 subjects with IDA were randomly divided into three groups: blank control group,test groupⅠ with enrich blood tablet intervention,and test group Ⅱ with enrich blood tablet and recover energy tablet intervention simultaneously.Hemoglobin(Hb),Free erythrocyte protoporphyrin(FEP) and step index(SI) were evaluated before and after the study.Results:In test group Ⅱ,the level of Hb and SI were significantly increased﹝(P0.05), and the level of FEP significantly decreased(P0.01)﹞ in comparison with the control group after 15 days;In the test groupⅠ,only the level of FEP significantly decreased﹝(P0.01)﹞ after 15 days,but there were no significant difference on the level of Hb and SI between groupⅠ and control group.Conclusions:The results suggested that ferrous intervention combined with Chinese traditional tonic medicine had more quickly positive influence than single ferrous intervention on IDA in short treatment time.
