[Objective] The aim of this study was to investigate the epidemic status and relevant factors of lumbar disc herniation(LDH) and to provide objective evidence for its treatment and prevention.[Methods] Epidemiology method was used to investigate the incidence rate and relevant factors of LDH such as age,occupation,and the statistic and logical analysis was done to the incidence rate and relevant factors.[Results] The incidence rate of LDH of people in the investigation area was higher(7.62%),which was relevant to the age and occupation.People aged 25-55 was with the highest incidence rate,which was related to more labor activities,increasing working load and injury opportunities,and long-term labor under forced positions such as sitting and standing for a long time.Occupations such as driving,heavy physical labor,teaching were high risk ones of LDH epidemiology.[Conclusion] LDH is advancing widely,with increasing danger.Medical supervision shall be intensified to reduce the incidence rate of LDH.
