INVESTIGATION AND ANALYSIS OF RISK FACTORS OF BREAST CANCER OF WOMEN

[Objective] To investigate the risk factors of breast cancer in women living in our area in order to identify the high risk of population and to conduct proper interventions. [Methods] The accumulation of observation on the number of final diagnosis as breast disease and age of 546 patients in our hospital from June 2005-October 2010 was statistically analysed, while 148 patients with pathologically confirmed breast cancer patients with non-breast cancer patients 1:1 was investigated with matched case-control study. Study included gynecological history, family history of cancer, trauma, history of benign breast disease, history of taking contraceptive pills, smoking, drinking history and so on. [Results] Most breast cancer patients in the region were 38 to 58 years, women aged 20 to 29 were also found some with breast cancer, the prevalence of the disease appeared a younger trend. Breast-feeding was a protective factors which reduced the risk of breast cancer; breast disease history, family history of cancer, high frequency of abortion, taking contraceptive drugs and passive smoking were risk factors for breast cancer. The age of menarche, age at first brith, and drinking habits had no correlation with the incidence of breast cancer. [Conclusion] The prevalence of the breast cancer in our region appears a younger trend. The risk factors of breast cancer of women in our area are history of benign breast diseases, family history of carcinoma and high frequency of abortion.
