Simultaneous determination of five DBPs in drinking water by ion chromatography with inline filtration

Objective To establish a method of analyzing five disinfection by-products(DBPs)(ClO_2~-,ClO_3~-,BrO_3~-,DCAA,TCAA)in drinking water by ion chromatography.Methods The samples were determined by Metrohm-940 ion chromatography with inline filtration and conductivity detector.The injection volume was 100 μl.The mobile phase was acetonitrile-3.6 mmol/L Na_2CO_3(10∶90,V/V).The mobile speed was 0.7 ml/min.Results The method had good linearity(γ≥0.9995).The samples' rates of recovery were 83.3%~116.7%.RSD was below 5%.The limits of quantitation were ClO_2~-:0.10 mg/L,BrO_3~-:0.002 mg/L,ClO_3~-:0.10 mg/L,DCAA:0.010 mg/L,TCAA:0.020 mg/L.Conclusion The method is simple,sensitive,accurate and reproducible,which is suitable for analyzing five DBPs in drinking water simultaneously.
