PRECONCENTRATION WITH ACTIVATED CARBON AND DETERMINATION WITH OSCILLOPOLAROGRAPHY OF ULTRATRACE BISMUTH IN WATER

The adsorption behaviour of bismuth on activated carbon and its desorption method were studied. It was found that bismuth could be completely adsorbed by activated carbon in the pH 0-12, and the absorbed bismuth could be quantitatively desorbed with 50% nitric acid. A method for the preconcentration of ultratrace bismuth in water was established, and combined with oscillopolarography, bismuth as low as 5 ng/L in water could be determined.
