A method of Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry(ICP-OES) was applied to study the determination of tin in water samples.Operation parameters and condition were optimized and selected. The optimum instrument conditions were:analysis spectral line 189.9nm,RF power 1100W,nebulizer pressure 200kPa.Pre-treatment method of water samples was discussed. The results indicated that in the linear range of 0-10mg/,the related coeffi cient was 0.9999,the detection limit was 0.015mg/L,and the RSD was in the range of 2.40-5.59%,and the recovery was in the range of 83.0-95.0%.The method has advantages of high accuracy, precision, easy equipment operating, wide linearity and etc.It is a good method to measure tin content in water.
