THE LANDFORM AND NEOTECTONIC FEATURES IN FRONT REGION OF THE WULUMUQI SOUTH MOUNTAIN

The relationship of the neotectonic motion and earthquake has attracted geo- scientist's attention.In this paper, the Landform and neotectonic motion in front region of the Wulumuqi south mountain is discussed on the basis of geological, geomorphic and sedimentary data. Data show that some geological, geomorphic and sedimentary feature in this region are caused by the right-Lateril displacement of the fault mainly, and the activity of the fault is stronger then before. The horizontal range of the fault motion is more Large then vertical range. The intensity and frequency are different in different zone, The distribution and change of landform in time and space is controlled by the neotectonic stress field.
