Preliminary Report of the Effect of Preharvest Calcium Spray on Pyrus Bretschneideri Rehd(Korla Fragrant Pear) in Storage

【Objective】This test aimed to increase the calcium content of the fruit to improve postharvest fruit quality.【Method】The test studied the fruit quality and physiological change in pyrus bretschneideri rehd in storage by spraying 0.014%、0.017%、0.020% calcium fertilizer before harvest.【Result】 Higher calcium fertilizer density can prevent the quality loss and keep firmness of the fruit.【Conclusion】 0.020% calcium fertilizer was the best.In addition,0.020% calcium fertilizer could be beneficial for preserving total acid content and preventing the change of soluble solid content,and putting off the respiration summit,but it was not desirable for inhibiting the CO2 release in MAP.Furthermore,0.017% calcium fertilizer could be favorable for keeping the cell and restraining the activity of polyphenol oxidase which could prevent the fruit from becoming brown.
