Strengthening Effects of Coarse-grained Steel Slag on Mechanic Performance of Concrete

The steel slag affregate of 5-20 mm were used to prepare concrete and to analyze the strengthening effects of steel slag aggregate volume fraction on mechanical performance of C20,C50 and C80concrete.The results showed that pore rate of coarse steel slag aggregate was larger,pore diameter was great,a small amount of particles formed foneycomb structure and crushed index was 8.5%,but it can still prepare concrete.Steel slag aggregate can improve compressive strength and anti-abrasion strength under high and low water-cement ratio of concrete.Along with the increasing of volume fraction of steel slag aggregate,compression strength and anti-abrasion strength and volume fraction of steel slag coarse aggregate were increased.The lower intensity,the greater strengthening effects of enhancement.When volume fraction of steel slag aggregate was 30%,the strengthening effects of coarse-aggregate steel slag on C20,C50 and C80concrete were 12.9%,15.0%,9.9% respectively,the C80anti-aprasion strength were about 94.8% C50 respectively.
