The Cosmology and Philosophical Allegory in the Aeneid

DING Yao;Department of Chinese Language and Literature,East China Normal University;
The atomic philosophy from Lucretius,an ancient Roman philosopher,reflects various forms of human being as self-being,the natural picture of de-divinity and the reality of all gods in exile. While developing the device of Lucretius,Virgil effectively separates himself from his predecessors,indirectly claiming the idea he insists to be more humanitarian than that of Lucretius' s. Besides,Virgil uses four dimensions of space and alternate timelines to unitize and allegorize the Aeneid. This text explores Vigil's cosmic perspective with a detailed analysis of the epic.
