The New Trend in Israel's Diplomacy after the'Arab Spring'

Xie Lichen;Cui Xiaojun;
Some new trends emerged in Israel's diplomacy after the outbreak of'Arab Spring'.The long-term right deviation in Israel's domestic politics,its realistic strategic culture of offensive and defensive and the highly export-oriented economy constitute the internal causes for these new changes in its diplomacy,while the change of the Middle East regional order and the adjustment of the US strategy towards the Middle East are the external causes for these new trends.In a sharply deteriorating geopolitical environment,Israel,while keeping'strategic silence'in the face of political upheaval in the Arab world,intervenes covertly and selectively.At the same time,Israel actively carries out'periphery strategy'and'Looking East'policy.As a result,Israel went through the pressing geopolitical environment,turning'Israel Winter'into'Israel Spring'.
