Research and progress of coated metallic-ceramic composite powder prepared by electroless plating

Electroless plating is preferred to making the met- al-coated ceramic powder which is one of important new ma- terials.Owing to its particular structure,the composite pow- der with ceramics core and metallic shell can be endowed par- ticular properties and applied more and more widespread. Focusing on the key problems presented in its process and application,this paper firstly summarizes the process charac- teristic of electroless plating on the surface of ceramic pow- der,subsequently analyzes some principal influencing factors on the stability of plating bath,reaction rate and the quality of coated layer.Furthermore,the development trend of elec- troless plating powder is reviewed on the basis of its applica- tion research.
