Analysis of Input-output Electrical Signal in Short-Circuit Transfer of Gas Metal Welding

Experimental method of input-output electrical signal in gas metal arc welding is introduced.Through analysis of external characteristic of the power supply,the adaptive parameters used to be analyzed are given.That is output welding current and input instantaneous power.Time series and probability density of output welding current and input instantaneous power are discussed under different wire feeding speed.The result is shown that the envelope of input instantaneous power is basically consist with output current waveform,input power peak value and output current have nearly the same characteristics of probability density,and input instantaneous power lags behind output current.So,it demonstrates that it can be evaluated the stability of droplet transfer from input terminal,and it will lay a foundation for welding stability evaluation from input terminal.
