A STUDY OF EGO IDENTITY AND IDENTITY STATUS IN YOUTH: THE STRUCTURE OF IDENTITY STATUS AND METHODS OF MEASUREMENT

This study discusses the theory of ego identity. It mainly touches upon such issues as the ego identity conception, identity diffusion and psychological moratorium. It also introduces some research results on identity status both in China and abroad, which include the research by J.E.Marcia (1964,1965). A.Kato(1993,1997) and the practical research on Chinese youth's identity status by R.Zhang (1993,1994). In addition, it presents an identity status survey table and its method.
